are a full-service hospital offering routine preventive health care,
elective and emergency surgery, medical diagnostic work and treatment,
and hospitalization of sick animals.
We are equipped with digital x-ray and digital ultrasound, which allow for excellent visualization of both bony and soft tissues, as well as allowing us to electronically send x-rays and ultrasound images to radiologists and surgeons for specialist opinions. We are also equipped with an on-site laboratory, which allows us to provide blood counts and blood chemistry and electrolyte analyses in a more timely manner than sending to an outside lab. This technology allows us to closely monitor critically ill patients, and also allows us to provide blood test results in emergency and after-hours situations. Our hospital also has an on-site microbiology laboratory, with a staff microbiologist, which allows for faster identification of pathogens so we are able to iniate appropriate and effective treatment in a more timely manner. In addition to general medicine and surgery, our small animal veterinarians have special interests in ophthalmology, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, oncolology and chemotherapy, and surgical repair of cruciate ligament injury.
Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 9:00 am
to 4:00 pm on Saturday. House calls can be
arranged by special appointment. EQUINE SERVICES We
offer both an ambulatory farm service and an on-site equine
hospital. Clients are encouraged to bring their horses to the hospital for routine appointments (thus saving the farm call fee) -call us to arrange an in-clinic appointment. Our equine hospital is also equipped to provide for cases requiring more advanced treatment and diagnosis. We have a sand ring and hard run-out surface for lameness workups, a high power x-ray machine for imaging areas not normally available with portable x-ray, in addition to facilities for examining and treating advanced cases.
EQUINE SURGERY
We are able to hospitalize up to four horses concurrently, and provide for their medical treatment and critical care needs. We have a dedicated equine surgery suite with a padded recovery room. In addition to services provided by Dr. Noseck, we also regularly arrange referrals to other equine specialists for ophthalmology, medicine, and surgery (see "Equine Surgery", below). Petroglyph Animal Hospital is pleased to be able to offer the services of a specialist equine surgeon: Dr Colin Scruton, BVetMed MS MRCVS Dip. ACVS, of Equerry Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine Inc.
